Yesterday, Monday 21 March 2021, I went to Milan in Via Montenapoleone where the Omega 2022 novelties were waiting for me in the boutique. How many were they? They never ended.
Under the usual hostile lights (for photographing without any equipment) I took a lot of photos with my smartphone: I hope you will forgive me for the quality of the shots but I wanted to try to provide you with a more real image on the 2022 news.
And I start right from my wrist. Already in the cover photo of the post you will have noticed that a lot of my interest was concentrated in the brand new Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep collection. At 45.5mm I thought it would look like a pressure cooker on me, however – even if its size doesn’t really fit my wrist – I thought a lot worse. More than anything else, being waterproof up to 6,000 meters, what is most noticeable in its construction is the thickness, however quite in line with other diving beasts.
But for those who have a medium-large wrist and have always seen a maximum of 42/43 mm well, I recommend trying it: maybe it will also be for the manta lugs, however it could fit on the wrist, I repeat – not mine.
Another novelty, again in the Ultra Deep, is the brand new O-MEGASTEEL steel. Again for the unnatural lights it is difficult to give a judgment: maybe I will give it in a review after observing this new alloy longer and in a more natural light. One thing is certain: the color is different from the 316L steel that fake Omega uses for now in all its other replica watches uk. In the habitat where I saw it, it did not seem dazzling but, as if it were a dial subjected to a soleil finish, it gave off a rather uniform light.
Another feature that immediately catches the eye, indeed on the wrist, of the new Ultra Deep professional divers is the weight which, like other timepieces capable of dizzying water resistance such as these, obviously cannot be a feather. The models in O-MEGASTEEL and bracelet exceed 240 grams while the one in titanium, a notoriously lighter alloy, weighs only about 130 grams.
The other photos of the Omega novelties include a pair of Seamaster Aqua Terra with new dials, the Seamaster 300m with the green dial, an Omega Speedmaster ’57 Caliber 9906, and the Moonwatches in Moonshine gold.
