The current Supeocean collection was extensively revised in 2022.
They are references available in cases of various materials in a range of sizes never seen before: 36, 42, 44, 46 mm. The colored dials of this new collection are combined with three different types of metals with which the case is made: steel, steel-gold and bronze.
The special alloy used in the 44mm and 42mm bronze versions is highly resistant to corrosion and, a classic, over time develops a subtle patina that makes this Superocean look like it came from a bygone era.
The two strap variants (sporty rubber strap or the new metal bracelet a
three links) are fitted with a deployant buckle for minimum adjustments up to 15 mm, thus adapting the fit to be able to wear the Superoceans even over tight-fitting jackets or wetsuits.
Of course, the latest SuperOceans also stand out for their performance and the use of innovative materials.
The water resistance is 300 meters and the new models have large hands with SuperLuminova inserts. The unidirectional bezel is made of ceramic, a scratch-resistant material that will not fade over time.
They are fitted with fake breitling caliber 17 – an old acquaintance and nothing special because it is actually an ETA 2824-2 with 38 hours of power reserve – but at least it is the most popular and reliable automatic movement. But there is a special consideration: as always, Breitling has all the calibers that move its fake watches certified by the COSC.
With the new Breitling SuperOcean the Slow Motion hand is back (look further up the vintage models, especially the 2005) with its characteristic square tip. Expert enthusiasts will also remember the porthole positioned at 6 o’clock (look at the SuperOcean 2005 Execution 1 – at the top it is the first in the paragraph of the story) which always presented a different color depending on the state of the minute chronograph, i.e. active, in pause. or disabled.
