Fifty-nine years later everything is still there in its usual place. The Carrera Red Dial Limited Edition is inspired by the same minimalist and classic aesthetic that made the Heuer Carrera one of the pilots’ favorite models in the 60s and 70s fake watches.
The lines of the original Heuer Carrera chronograph reference 2447 almost unchanged have been adapted to a 39 mm steel case. The indexes and hour and minute hands are faceted, rhodium-plated and coated with Super-LumiNova.
Under a thick sapphire glassbox with rounded sides there is a classic tri-compax dial, for the occasion of this limited edition in a bright red color.
The dial is sun-brushed, while the background of the three chronograph counters – hours, minutes and continuous seconds indicator – is finished in colimaçon to create a subtle contrast of lights. It should be emphasized that the dial always sports the ancient Heuer logo under the name Carrera for the occasion of this limited edition.
Movement
Like the latest TAG Heuer chronographs, it is powered by the Caliber 02, an in-house movement which, equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch, is a guarantee and avoids any jamming with respect to a timing system governed by cams.
To take up the sporting world of racing, the skeletonized oscillating weight is black.
This edition is limited to 600 copies worldwide and has already been on sale since July.

It is not the first and it will be the last time that a TAG Heuer is dyed a racing red. The Carrera is one of the most institutional symbols of the golden age of chronographs inspired by the world of racing cars. Fans will particularly appreciate the ancient Heuer logo and the absence of the TAG lettering.
A curious fact that you would never expect from such a “vintage effect” chronograph is that it is water resistant to 100 meters!
